Finding the Classic Beauty Within
Chin AugmentAtion
Chin augmentation can create better harmony between the chin and other facial features for a more balanced profile by increasing its projection.

There are two techniques for adding prominence and contour to your chin. One, performed through an incision inside the mouth, requires moving the chinbone. The other approach involves insertion of an implant. The incisions to insert the implant may be made inside the mouth or on the underside of the chin.

Similarly, in some cases the cheekbones may be built up (augmented) by placing an implant over them. This is usually performed through an incision inside the mouth, but it may be done through a lower eyelid or brow lift incision.

To permit proper healing following chin or cheek augmentation, you may be placed on a liquid diet for a day or two.

FAQ's about Chin Cheek Surgery

I have a receding chin and want to have it corrected. What can be done?
A slightly receding or weak chin can be treated quite well with the placement of a chin implant. This procedure involves a tiny incision, either inside the mouth or under the chin point and placement of a inert chin implant. After surgery the recovery is generally quick and the augmented chin feels and appears quite natural.

I can't tell if I need a nose or chin augmentation. How do I know?
The need for sculpting of the nose or addressing the chin first is based on analysis of facial proportions. This is done by analyzing the position of the nasal bones in reference to the cheek bones and the position of the top lip in reference to the tip of the nose. All of these dimensions are considered carefully and, based on the analysis of the face, either rhinoplasty, chin augmentation or sometimes both procedures can be performed if needed.

I want my cheeks to be more defined. How will this procedure accomplish this?
Cheek or malar augmentation is a relatively simple procedure which can give more definition to a face which appears sometimes too thin and elongated. Through tiny incisions hidden inside the mouth, implants can be placed which give the cheek bones and upper face more definition. After healing the look and feel is quite natural. The desired position and size of the implant can be also chosen before the surgery.
